Resolved Question: How can I make friends on holiday?

I find it very hard to make friends and in a week I'm going on holiday to a hotel in Mauritius. I'm just going with my parents so I really want to make friends to not be bored, but I'm really shy and always have trouble, and have only made friends on holiday before when they are brave enough to come up to me.
